Cotton Ball and Petroleum Jelly Fire Starters

Hi Everyone!

My previous post on How to Use a Oil Lamp got me to thinking about these, enjoy.

Today I am showing you how to make a very effective and cheap fire starter from regular cotton balls and petroleum jelly (Vaseline).

These are as simple as it gets and work better than just about anything you can buy.  They are extremely easy to start (they can even be started with sparks) and can take a short dip in water and still start!

Check it out!

I like to store these in a standard zipper type bag, but  any water tight container will work well.  I like the baggies because I can knead them so all of the jelly is distributed evenly.

Sorry about the lack of a posting yesterday.  I started feeling sick right before making this ‘episode’, and you can even tell from the video, but it gets the technique across so I’m rolling with it!

Hope you enjoy, Cheers!

Willie
